Learn Nomadic culture from the Reindeer Tsaatan Tribe, visit Buddhist temples, learn traditional rituals from the Shamans and visit the world renowned Naadam Festival!

Day One:
•depart from Vancouver in the afternoon arriving in Beijing in mid-afternoon the following day; driver/transfer to hotel

Day Two:


•Driver/transfer to the Trans-Mongolian Express from Beijing to Ulaanbaatar, overnight in sleeper cabins
•Breakfast served in an authentic Mongolian decorated dinging car
•arrive in Ullaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia, “The City of Contrasts”•tour guide will meet guests at train station and transfer to hotel
•hotel accommodations/orientation/welcoming dinner
•visit Sukhbaatar Square (named after the Mongolian National Hero of the People’s Revolution in 1921) and the Gandan Monastery, a Tibetan-style monastery, the name translates to “Great Place of Complete Joy.”
•Breakfast served in an authentic Mongolian decorated dinging car
•arrive in Ullaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia, “The City of Contrasts”•tour guide will meet guests at train station and transfer to hotel

•lunch/dinner will be offered at camps served traditional style by campfire
•drive to Khatgal – gateway to Khorsgol National Park•overnight accommodations at Ger Camps

Interesting Facts:•Ger Camps are felt covered round tents, they sleep 2 to 4 people and have a bath house attached, usually contains a table and a wood stove.
Day Four:
•take a guided tour in Lake Khorsgol (famed as the “Blue Pearl” of Mongolia and heart of Khovsgol National Park, this lake holds 2% of the world’s fresh water reserve)
•fishing opportunity! Fresh fish served for dinner
•sleeping overnight in Tipi tents. Meals served.

Interesting Facts:•the Tipi tent is a sturdy conical form that naturally protects from strong winds

•local guide will navigate guests through Darhat Valley, horseback riding (optional)

•horseback ride to Tsaatan Camp supported by local English-speaking guides
•camp out with Pack Horse Support; authentic cuisine served prepared by local villagers
•begin learning the traditions of the Dukha people
•participate in their everyday life – traditions, riding the reindeer, milking the reindeer, processing the skins
•overnight accommodations in Tipi tents
•horseback ride to Tsaatan Camp supported by local English-speaking guides
•camp out with Pack Horse Support; authentic cuisine served prepared by local villagers
•begin learning the traditions of the Dukha people
•participate in their everyday life – traditions, riding the reindeer, milking the reindeer, processing the skins

•begin travelling back to Ulaan Baator through the Barhad Valley
•meet the Darhad people – famous for their good shamans
•partake in a traditional Shaman Spiritual ceremony and meal
•overnight accommodations in small wooden houses
